Been watching the latest news regarding overseas travel, it has been announced that Cyprus will remain on the Amber list, this will be a body blow for the Cyprus tourist trade.

UK rules regarding countries on Amber are as follows.

Travel to amber countries incurs the requirement for 10 days of self-isolation on return, also you have to pay for 2 test's no one is going to do that especially as Portugal is on the Green list which means no quarantining upon your return.

Grant Shapps says he will revue everything again in 3 weeks time, he said that some countries in the green list could go back to amber and countries on the amber or red can be regraded.

Either way not good

I think they have got it about right. Good job they have put turkey on the red list as people returning from India were going via Instanbul and supposedly quarantining there before returning to UK as it was cheaper than paying the hotel quarantine but thankfully the UK have got wise to it!

There also seems to be confusion on whether any leisure travel is allowed to Amber countries from the Uk even post 17/5.

I actually need to go to the UK, but I will not be going until I am certain that I will be free to travel there, and more to the point, travel back within a six week time frame without restriction. I will be surprised if that will happen this year.
