This is a DISGRACE!!!

As a moderator I TRY to avoid Politics, Religion an Sports
However, this infuriated me:-

Russian primary school children detained for anti-war protest
Gabriel Gatehouse
BBC Newsnight
When I saw reports and photographs on Tuesday suggesting that primary school children had been arrested by police in Moscow for laying flowers at the Ukrainian embassy and holding signs saying “No to war” I refused to believe it was real.
But now it has been confirmed by the Nobel prize-winning newspaper Novaya Gazeta. In an update the newspaper says the children have since been released.
The images show the children with officers behind metal bars, perhaps in a police vehicle, and then in a police station, holding their flowers and placards.
The Kremlin appears to be taking increasingly draconian measures to try to keep a grip on its war narrative.

I saw on fox news live interviews with young Russians in their 20s on the streets of Moscow, they were very upset by the invasion and send the apologises to the Ukrainian people, also I read an article which describes the invasion as " Putin's war" it would be interesting to know the percentage of Russians in favour of this action, I suspect Putin would not fair well in a popularity contest. Let's hope he is deposed from power before he loses all his marbles and does something unbelievably stupid.

I bet Putin thought that this would be a walkover like the Hungarian atrocity in the late 1950s.

Everyone has known for many years that this war has been coming and timing the only issue. The Ukraine has been the stamping ground for Western testing, weapons, troops and become very western militarized despite requesting neutrality in the Minsk accord then not signing it.

In fact the west now wants to provoke further actions by Mr Putin in the Black sea and via Poland. That has now been openly stated.

I do not condone and invasion and war is in itself an atrocity. However as well as throwing handbags and trombones at Mr Putin, I think as ex pats we would do better to look at the sick people running UK and the way they are all profiteering from a war by proxy.

I wonder who was the eejit responsible for giving primary school children banners and other propaganda, that they couldn't possibly understand, to use as a political tool.
