Says updating personal data! Someone will phone but won't ask details. Can do this on their web site Home Group Who we are! Tried phoning them but too busy.

All seems a bit odd.
What do you think.

I've treated it as a scam. The bank would write to you for this kind of data or ask you to attend your branch. Be very careful.

I had a suspiciously writen text from Hellenic , wasnt sure about it so i didnt phone or go on line , i went in to my branch and to my surprise it was genuine ! It was badly written and mildly threatening . They said they had suspended my account because after repeated attempts to contact me i had failed to respond ! She checked all of my details and they were correct , but she needed proof of this !
Yescyou are right to be suspicious and i maintain if in doubt treat it as a scam until proven otherwise.

Well worth a visit to the bank and show them the text message.

I updated my details at my bank when I moved recently.

I was surprised at how many categories were very out of date!

Not only that, it was the first opportunity for a few years to actually talk to a member of staff instead of using the phone or bank's chat message system and I was given some very helpful information.

The Hellenic were quite awkward with me . when i confirmed my details and they were unchanged they wanted proof ! So be prepared with written proof of who you are , where you live , electricity bills , marriage certificate if bills are in your partners name , its appsolutely ridiculous and all this is the banks fault for getting caught alloeing money laundering !
