It's been mentioned a few places that a lot of us moved to Cyprus for the slower pace of life, so just wondering what it is everyone does with this increased leisure time?

For me, I read loads (something I never seemed to have energy for when working long, stressful hours in the UK), take plenty long walks, swim a lot in summer, and spend a goodly amount of time just sitting on my balcony contemplating the world and life in general! Oh, and I spend a canny bit of time down the pub watching football! :D

Doesn't sound like much, but the overall impact on my frame of mind since moving here has been considerable - I feel like I'm enjoying life now, not just having it pass me by unnoticed!

Getting to know Phil. After working full time, shifts, bringing up two kids, looking after elderly parent etc, etc, we are finally getting the quality time with each other that we said we wanted.

We have always loved one another. Now we are so much closer.

P.S. I could still throttle him at times!

So which way has the 'overall impact on my frame of mind' gone, good or bad :?

I spend most of my time these days surfing this great site, making sure everything runs as smooth as possible for all our members, but when I'm not online, I have my shop to run which, at present is quite quiet, so its not too taxing on the brain cell

We also have a puppy, so we take walks with her, play ball & generally chill out, I like to watch TV but no where as much as I use to in the UK, I find it a bit of escapism, even though I don't watch soaps, a majority of what I watch are fact based programmes, thus giving my brain cell a working out

I normally do my contemplating in the mornings when I wake up, somewhere I'm not interrupted & no I'm not willing to say on the board but its very peaceful

And doing lunch, when our time out coincides. Particularly liked our lunch trip across the border, Tilly Twosocks. It was like a mini adventure.

Lots of walking, swimming, talking, laughing, BBQs, cooking, popping to the local for a cheeky G&T.

When I lived closer to Paphos, I used to do a lot spin cycling, aerobics, body pump (not the rude kind!) & yoga/pilates classes. I'm trying to get back into a couple of classes a week as I really miss spin cycling classes (I'm not too good on a bike on the open road - too nervous  ). If any of you ladies fancy going to a class or already do, let me know!!! It's great fun!

I also read loads as well, I get out on the sun lounger and just lose myself in a great book.

Plus, hopefully I shall be taking up Greek lessons.

Some of our retired friends have such a hectic socail life here that I have to book a week in advance if we want a night out!!!

P.

Well if you do insist on leading a champagne-drenched playboy lifestyle you have to work to pay for it! :cheers
