If you live or come from Paphos, you are known as Paphian.

London = Londoner

Manchester = Mancunian

Dundee = Dundonian

Liverpool =Scouser

Aberdeen = Aberdonian

Birmingham = Brummie

I'm sure there are many others,

BUT

surely someone from Edinburgh is NOT

known as an EDIN-BURGER!!

N over to you............

We don't really have one to be honest. Posh Jocks is one of the affectionate terms we have.

The closest we probably have is Dunedintes (after our old name Dunedin - which is also a place in NZ).

Alastair tells me that people from Edinburgh are called EDINBURGENSIANS - we both come from there, but he's cleverer than me! He went to THE Edinburgh Academy - I went to Dingwall Academy!

Edinburgh is a very particular city with certain areas where nicknames and other regional expressions are not welcoms and other areas where second names are a way of life..

Take for instance the good people of Leith, they describe themselves as good burghers of Northern Edinburgh, however most people from outwith the area simply call them skank junkie lowlife.

However the Crammond set simply dont care what theyre called as theyve more money than sense anyway due to the inbreeding....

However I would never say such a thing about anyone. Even the sheepies!!

Alastair was brought up in the part of Edinburgh where a creche is when two Rolls Royces collide

If you come from Kelvinside, Glasgow SEX is what you use to carry the ashes/rubbish to the bin.

We are called WEEGIES amongst other things by others from outside, especially east coasters
