Now who is the deluded one :smilielol :smilielol

You do realise that when we beat the Makems this afternoon, we'll be 6 points clear of Wigan, who are the next team below us & equal with the Spurts on points too :D :D

If the Makems do pull off something they've not been able to do since the 00/01 season & beat us at the TOON by more than 2 goals  then they will go above us but we'll still be 3 points in front of the Smoggies

But can you honestly see us losing to the Makems at SJP..... I think NOT

Well I'll be signing off soon & not back on till later tonight, after I've watched the match, as I'm recording it on Sky :celebrate

so boro lose to bolton at home no surprise there given how boro usually do, however we tend to raise our game for the bigger games, so this saturdays game against the mackems is ideal for us (i hope) just hope we start against them how we did against bolton (without the missed chances that is)

Well Smurf, if you lose, you'd best go get that Kind Size Mars Bar, as you'll still be 6 points (or more) behind us & have a worse goal difference, so you'll not be able to finish above us & that'll mean :iamwin :smilielol :smilielol

Don't you just love a good derby game   We have the might Spam away, looking to get revenge but with all those ex-Toon players in there team, I doubt they'll win :celebrate

We don't think of the Boro game as a derby. Yes it is a grudge match, but usually has nothing on our matches with the mags.
This week however, it is a truly big game and because of the pathetic inept showing of last week it is vitally important to us.
Boro will pick up points with home games against Portsmouth and Man City, we however, may get nothing from Bolton away and Arsenal at home.
I only hope the players appreciate the position we are in. The last two performances have been woeful against poor teams. Surely not another one this week. Mind you if that clown McShane plays who knows ?
I know one player doesn't make a team but him coupled with Higginbottom sends the shakes throughout the rest of the team.
We will be there with our mates and there will be a big crowd too. The atmosphere may not be too good there's too much riiding on it. Boro are quite good away from home and our record against them is not good.
Downing against McShane, Alves against Higginbottom, the mind boggles.
We live in hope though so Haway The Lads ! Gary
PS I bet there's some on here who are loving this, seing me squirm !
On a happier note, September 2005 and I'm in the G and D watching the lads play Boro. It's a lovely sunny day and we win. Julio Arca got the winner with a sublime free kick at the Toxic Plant. There's a few Smoggies in and me and my daughter in her Mackem shirt. When that goal went we brought the house down. Happy Days.

Are you going back in time mate or was this you reminising at the last time you won :smilielol :smilielol

Actually mate, now that Smurf is on the board also, we don't seems to be ripping you apart as much these days, so I hope you pull something out of the bag this weekend, at least then, we'll still be able to rip the both of you next season :there :smilielol

i remember that game as well, i think it was your first win of the season (and your only away one) wasn't that the year you broke your own record for lowest points? (at least derby will take that off you)

just hope its a good game

You are right. I'm not bothered about what sort of game it is I just want the right result....... for us.
If you lose you'll still get out of it.
If we lose I fear we've had it.

You can never tell with the Jekyll and Hyde smogs, but I fancy them to nick a win this weekend.

Can't see Bolton or Brum getting anything though, and Wigan should beat Reading so I still think the mackems are comfortably safe....

Meanwhile, in the heady heights of mid-table  West Ham aren't playing well so we've a decent chance of a result there, although the ex-player effect means either Parker or Solano are sure to score....

Going to get down the pub early to watch the Chelsea-Man Utd game I reckon - should be a cracker!

Well I think Fulham will beat Brum this week. I take these two to go down though. I think Bolton will beat my lot and Reading will beat Spurs.

Aye, I would agree with most of that, although I can see Reading-Spurs being a draw.

Brum have hit a dodgy spell at just the wrong time, and Bolton should get at least a point I would have thought.

Can see Pompey winning at Boro too.

Well Done Smurf, it was never in any doubt.
You have too many good players to go down.
Give us another 4 points next season !
Next week, Fulham are away to Pompey who are dreaming of the FA Cup. Brum are at home to Blackburn oooh and Reading are away to Derby.
Who knows what will happen ? We will give Arsenal a whopping ! Cos the pressure is off !
Gary

All 3 have winnable games, reckon it will come down to whose bottle holds!

On form, Brum look knackered though....

Alongside Newcastle, Brum are the poorest team I've seen at our place this season.

Wow,what a day, imagine winning 4-0 away like Reading or 4-1 at home against a very good team like Brum, then finding out you are down anyway.
No time for sentiment, well done Fulham !

Missed the results yesterday, so who is going down??

if it is brum, My poor OH will be very sad not only now back in UK but his boyhood team relegated as well -too much to cope with and no wife to mop his tears away. Ha Ha!!
