I am Chris and live mostly in Huddersfield, but spend 12-20 weeks per year in Peyia, in our Cyprus Home, when business allows!

Wanted to share the story below with you in our local paper this week.
Where is the "Winterburn" Can anyone tell me? Is it a well known pub?

Conman’s victim sues for £140,000

A VICTIM of conman Stuart Smith has launched a court bid to sue him for more than £140,000.

Malcolm Blower, 59, has started civil proceedings after Smith admitted conning him out of £40,000.

Smith, 39, pleaded guilty to obtaining a money transfer from Mr Blower by deception at Bradford Crown Court last week.

Mr Blower paid Smith the money for the lease and “goodwill” of the Winterburn pub in Cyprus in August 2006 on the understanding it included the fixtures and fittings.

He later found out the items were stolen from the Winterburn pub – in Calderdale.

But Smith said Mr Blower hadn’t lost out – because Daniel Thwaites brewery had let him keep the stolen items.

I must say, I've never heard of the 'Winterburn' pub here in Cyprus, do you know if its in Paphos or which city it's in at all

Ive not heard of it in the West of the Island either, but welcome and this is the best place to ask about these things. Maybe of course it was misreporting and it was the Winterburn in Calderdale and another pub in Cyprus!

though i have never seen this pub , I would suspect that it may be in the limmassoll area ..
As I am sure its not here, or the ayia napa end of the island,
could be larnaka though ??
