Can someone tell me if there are any paper recycling bins or indeed any form of recylcing methods in Paphos (I know of the cans for kids, but I don't have any cans!!). What I do have is loads of magazines and papers and packaging etc.

Let me know as well if you know of any initiatives currently operating for environmental groups as I'd love to be able to help this beautiful island to be in top condition!

I did hear that there was a beach clean up the other year where residents got together to clear the beach of rubbish.

I have noticed when we come over Coral Bay beach could do with a good clean.I don't see why they cannot stack up the sunbeds at the end of the day.

In other countries they then use a tractor to rake the beach and collect the rubbish.I realise it is hot work but it would sell a lot better. Our friends were over and commented on it.

There is a beach clean up every year - doesn't seem to make much difference though. I agree if they went over even once a week with a tractor it would help.

Haven't heard of anything, but next time I see the secretary for (not sure which it is) the green party I will ask him, or if anyone goes into the no name bar the owner is connected to the green party. :D

Certainly doesn't seem to be much in the way of recycling here in Cyprus, not compared to some other European countries anyway.

Must be a government dept whose responsiblity this is, especially now we're in the EU - any ideas?

Recycling will develope in Cyprus, the same way as it has spread throughout the rest of the EU, it has to be a mentality change and eventually they will get there.
