.....and counting every second!

We are so impatient now and going to work is hell!

I'v been through every room in the house with bin liners and have been very ruthless with what has to go!

It's funny, now that the decision is made and we are acctually leaving, material things have no value to me anymore! Even Gavin is saying the same and thats saying something!!! I call him inspector Gadget because he loves anything gadgety! He is even selling his beloved Plasma!

So i have a garage full of bin liners all ready for the dump! years of 'bits' that i never thought i could let go!

But somethings are more important.... :D

Good luck & keep us all updated on your move

Good luck with your move - don't go too mad with throwing everything away you will be surprised when you get here and think "oh I should have kept that" and then find you can't buy it here for love or money. :D

Best of luck - i remember being pretty ruthless when packing for the big move - me & Mrs F sold all our furniture etc and arrived in the country to live with just the contents of our 2 suitcases! (although to be fair, I do still have loads of stuff stashed in the loft back at my parents' house! )

Yummy mummy,
I know what you mean! My problem is I'm a nightmare for buying little 'bits' for the house and i keep having to tell myself to stop! you cant take it with you!

CF,
thats our plan, all the little keepsakes will be going in granny's loft and only essentials will be coming in the cases. I will be packing a case each for the in-laws and my mum to bring when they come out tho :D not that ruthless!

The only real bulky stuff that will be coming is G's music equipment and the kids toys....says something doesnt it?! I'm only bringing me, my clothes and my hair straightners!

That's the ticket - we had all visitors for the first year or so come with extra stuff squirreled away in their luggage for us, plus on our first couple of visits back we left Cyprus with empty bags and returned with them full! :D

Advantage is you get time to work out what stuff you actually need, rather than bring a load of things you'll never use.

Thanks Julie,

We are so exciting now it's all we think/talk about! the kids are telling everyone they meet!

Wainting for news on a house we really want to rent at the mo, if the price is right its ours os fingers, toes and everything else firmly crossed!

I'm sure your time will fly by and before you know it you'll be sitting out on a hot summers night with a cool drink in your hand and a BBQ sizzling away next to you :D

I can understand your excitement :o

I'm really impatient - I want to be there now :!: :!: but the time just isn't quite right for us yet. We want to wait until my daighter graduates next year and gets settled into a job and finds her own place. We then need another couple of years to get the finances right as we want to semi-retire and only have to pick up a bit of part time work over there for extra cash

Know how you feel, we have waited 5 years to make this move, we always seemed to have something in the way! not anymore tho, time for that one way ticket!

You have to do it the right way for you, that way you have the best way of suceeding! thats the way i see it anyways

Good luck with everything Lolly - I wish I was at that point now but have to wait until the house is sold

Hope to meet you when I bring Mia out to Sam on 15th March, when I will be staying with her in Peyia.
