As a follow up to the earlier poll, interested to see what part of the country our English members are from - I've kept the options simple, but feel free to add to the thread to give more details!

North for me, north-east specifically. Born in Newcastle, spent most of my formative years in Washington (Tyne & Wear, not DC!), then went to Uni in Leeds and liked it so much I stayed 10 years, before the big move to Cyprus 4 years ago.

I'm originally from the West Midlands but left at 19 to see the rest of the world by joining the military

Did get to visit some really exotic places & see some not so exotic places too but Cyprus would have to be my favorite, as I fell in love with the island & moved back here 16 months ago :D

Well we know from the earlier poll that there's only English & Scots on here so far, and you lot all had a good old chinwag on that thread, so we're having our turn now!

Plus I have a theory about this, that I'll share if and when it's proved right!

That's not right, you should say what your theory is & then if its right, you can say I told you so, otherwise you could say what ever you like & make us all think you're clever

I hope your not suggesting that there will be reverse-engineering involved in my theorising?? :(

I would say, but I don't want to risk unduly influencing the results....

I am originally from Devon in the South West, but left at 19 to join the services.

Currently living in the South, but I am not a Southerner!!! (only here for work)

I'm a North West girl born and bred - Stockport originally but have lived in Sale for the past 19 years.

Just in the process of selling our house to down size which is the first part of putting the finances in place to hopefully make the move over to join you folks in Cyprus in the next 3 or 4 years. Unless I win the lottery this Saturday in which case I will be over there on Sunday

Had to put "south" as my vote as I spent 40 years in Kent, but I was born near York. Live in Wales now but will never be Welsh I'm afraid. Heart is now firmly in Cyprus, where hopefully I will be permanently this year.

Well I'm a Somerset boy born and bred , infact I still live about 13 miles from the town I was born in . How well travelled is that ?

But both my Parents were born/grew up in Kent , I was really miffed once once when someone asked me if I was from Kent because of my accent , and after years of my Mum saying I did'nt speak properly because of my Zummerzet accent .

Hopefully one day I can add Cyprus in my profile . :P

You're welcome Jean - we're all still girls at heart ! I've seen you talk about your retirement and special birthday so I think I know what number that special birthday might be and if I'm right I've got to say you're looking good :!: If that's what living in Cyprus does for you I can't wait to get there :D

Born in Collumpton (Devon)

Then moved to Water Orton in the Midlands,

Then to Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire.

Then over here to Cyprus. :D

Best move so far i reckon.
