Yeah we spoke to him & he wanted stupid money but for someone who doesn't really care about the football & who he plays for as long as they pay him enough, we decided against matching his wages, as we don't want mercenaries anymore, we had enough of those kind of players under FFS

All I see is the Mackems doing what the TOON use to do, nice to know we set an example for your team to follow

The Spurs players are hardly mercenaries are they ? I thought Chimbonda was once myself but obviously now he's signed for us he isn't. Seriously, the Spurs players were being played out of position after Jol left. The writing was on the wall for them all. Ramos didn't want them, that doesn't mean they are no good or just after the money, surely if they were just after the money they would have kept the bench warm at Spurs.
Diouff preferred us to Pompey, now there's a first. All of them have said they joined us cos Keane sold the club and what he wants at the club.
They may get decent wages but we are only paying the going rate, nothing more. There's plent of players at Newcastle and Boro getting more money than these guys.
