chelsea looked very good

well done newcastle i did not think you would get anything at old trafford

best result of the weekend (no not boro's glorious win) Hull, come on lads keep it up

ps bad injury for city's Bojinov again feel sorry for him

on boro's win how on earth was wheaters first goals dissallowed? thought it was 2 decent teams but boro were much more threatening upfront, no poor performances in the team which is what we need each week

I notice our resident Spurts fans isn't anywhere to be seen

Good show on Saturday Smurf, that put the dampeners on the Spurts race into the top 4 straigt away, even after spending god knows how many millions on 'Top Class' players from abroad....

So what happened to the goal machine 'Bent'.. what was it 16 goals in 8 game in pre-season...

The Spurts deputy is here.......

We showed no cutting edge and no cohesion.

We deserved to lose.

As for Bent - he got NO service. The guy is a good player. He will get goals, no doubt. He simply did not see the ball yesterday.

Dawson is not a Premiership player and that is where we need to buy, + strikers befor the window closes.

Otherwise its another med-table season of mediocrity - what else would you expect after all the hype?

Yeah we were the same last season, 2 good strikers & no one to pass to them but now we have & still have 2 good strikers, so we should see a lot more goals.. unless the Spurts decide to buy Owen off us as is being reported ion the Crap-loids

The 'Spider' is going to be an awesome player & you say Colocciini looked dodgy,, that was his first game with everyone else & has only had 1 training session with the team, so I think a little leeway is called for... he stopped the best team in the world from scoring didn't he :smilielol :smilielol

Guthrie is young but I think he's got the making of a great midfielder, a bit like a very young Rob Lee me thinks..

Our weak link yesterday was Zogs at left back, he's not cut out for that position...

Sorry for the late reply to this one, I decided to treat the wife and I to a weekend away so have only just caught up with things.

Sadly I did not see any of the football over the weekend so cannot say how good or bad our respective teams were. Reports say Spurs got what the deserved which was nowt, well played the Boro, the Toon played well yesterday with both Spidy and Terry Mac's son getting good reports from colleagues here in the office. Sunderland looked like they were going to get a draw out of things until one slip from them so all in all I don't think I missed much.

The real stuuf has started now, lets see how things pan out over the next 5 or 6 games, expecially when all these last minute signings arrive.

Cheers.

John

Well it looks like my pre-season optimism amy not have been so misplaced after all - in KK we trust! :clapping

Good result for the smogs and reassuring to see Spurs' woes continuing - always thought they would struggle after selling their 2 best strikers (Berbatov will still leave surely, and even if he doesn't he'll be sulking so much he'll be worse than useless!) and not getting better central defensive cover than the liability that is Michael Dawson.

Saw the mackems game and thought they actually played quite well - get a goalscorer in and they'll be comfortable mid-table this year I reckon. Liverpool were poor mind.

Chelsea looked awesome in their game, and will take some stopping....
