Its been reported in the crap-loids this morning that Owen will be offered a 3yr deal worth around £21m to stay at the TOON

That works out at £7m a year, around £140k a week

So much for a supposed wage cap of £80k being at the TOON

Does he ever play ?

Yeah he plays at least 2 games a month, so it works out at £280k a game

Suggestion seems to be that it will be heavily incentive based: i.e. he only gets the top amount if playing and scoring regularly - potentially gives us better value for money and means he doesn't have to lose face by being seen to take a pay cut.

Still wouldn't be surprised if he hangs on and leaves on a free though - if he can do it to his hometown club Liverpool, he'll have no qualms about shafting us....

I think if he doesn't sign the new contract by end of transfer window, Ashley will probably put him up for sale in Jan to save him going for nowt, well I would anyway

Latest is, the TOON have offered Owen a 1yr extension on 85k a week, do you think he'll take it
