South African consortium in pole position for a takeover by all accounts - talk of King Kev being reinstated and offered a stake in the club as well (presumably as added insurance against any future walk-outs!)

According to the latest crap-loid reports, 2 of the 5 supposed SA involved in the consortium wanting to take over the TOON have denied any interest in the club

So what is happening, no one knows, the press are making stories up as they go along & it's not being helped by Joe Kinnear as everything he's said so far has been way wide of the mark, so is Ashley feeding him crap to spill to the media or what :? :?

Are there really 8 interested parties :? Have any of them placed a bid yet :? Are any of them rich enough to run a EPL club & make it fight for a top 6 place again :?

I know I'll get some replies to this but I doubt any of them will be of any use

Is that a trick question?? He's the most successful toon manager in my lifetime, of course i would welcome him back.

In the meantime we secured a fantastic battling point this weekend - Joe Kinnear's black and white army are on the march.....

See Ashley put a deadline of yesterday to receive a firm offer.
He's extended it today until 17th October.

It's just normal Sports Direct tactics being applied - give it another couple of weeks and the "70% off, everything must go!!!" sticker will come out and there'll be a headlong rush of filthy rich arabs beating a path to our door....

Oh Yeah ? If you don't sell soon it might affect your ability to spend in January.

Now don't be getting too excited just cos you got a lucky draw with a very poor City.
One wag on NUFC.Com reckons if City hadn't have equalised it would have been as big a result as when you whupped Man Uts 5 something.
And he was being serious.

Did I really read this week that Joey Barton the born again good guy wants to be a role model for Children ?
What on earth made him think it was a good idea to run up and down the touchline at Sunderland kissing his club's badge ?
He is a moron.
He will bring more dishonour to Sid James this season, and they'll only have themselves to blame for giving the opportunity to do so in the first place.
Gary, Happy to be a Mackem, No, Relieved to be a Mackem.

Well maybe when/if we get new owners, they may just decide to get rid of him & all the other dross players ie Smith, Viduka, Ameobi etc we have at the club

What will you have to blonde about then Gary

Joe Kinnear after the mags got a point at Stamford Bridge:
"As a team overall this is as good as it get's"
Possession 37%
Shots on target 0
Shots off target 2
Corners 1
£47 a ticket in the away end !
Haway even we did better than that and we lost 5-0 !!!
Gary

Yes he's well connected & only worth approx £60m but its the part about him being investigated by all & sundry that worries me :manic

This guy puts Shinawatra to shame with his antics, I'd be very worried if he took over from Ashley

Can you imagine the damage it would have done to your club's prospects of signing anybody ( for good or on loan) if Owen had quit in January ?
What sort of message would that send out ?
You owe him one !

Isee today tha Cashley has once again insulted the geordie nation's intelligence by stating the club is no longer for sale.
When everyone else knows that what he really means is damn, there's nobody daft enough to give me what I want so to save face I'll come out with this horseplop.
He must truly think that the club's fans are daft, and judging by the spelling on the banners when Keegone left, he's probably right.
Happy New Year (not) Gary

And today the latest hoot to come out of Sid James' is that Newcastle have to sell to keep Given ! Yes you read that right. Newcastle are looking to sell their 2 Spanish flops Cisco and Enrique (step forward Dennis not so wise) and take a bow. They are also looking to offload Alan Smith(who ?) to finance a deal for Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson( you know, the one who couldn't hack it at Everton and returned back over the border with his tail between his kilt)
And this is supposed to make Given want to stay ?
Gary

Sorry but I don't think we should be looking at Fergie, as he playes for a SPL team & we know what happened the last time we brought a player off them... it cost us a fortune & was the biggest mistake we've ever made in the transfer window imo

Well according to some crap-loids, Ashley isn't putting any money into the club, so why the hell has he decided to not sell the club :? personally I'm waiting to see what happens this transfer window before making judgement :o

Whole sorry situation is a shambles. With Martins out injured our chances of taking points from some winnable games over the next few weeks are drastically reduced, after which we play Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd in quick succession. Without serious reinforcements this window (highly unlikely) we're in big, big trouble - the "performance" I witnessed against Liverpool was one of the most spineless capitulations I've ever seen.

Even if we scrape enough points to stay up, it will just be delaying the inevitable IMO - we'll almost certainly lose Owen, Given, N'Zogbia and Viduka before next year with no chance of recruiting replacements of similar quality, even if the money was there, which it clearly isn't.

What odds all 3 NE teams going down this season??

Current relegation odds (from Betfair):

mackems: 5/1
smogs: 5/1
Newcastle: 7/1

Might be worth a few quid at those odds....

Dennis Wise decides that Alan Smith has to be moved on.
Yes, Dennis Wise decides Alan Smith has to be moved on.
So they think long and hard about how to achieve that............ and come up with the idea of offering him to Boro as a swap for ......Mido !!!!!
You couldn't make it up!
Why the hell would Mido want to join the club whose supporters goad him with vile insults ?
Why didn'y Dennis Wise realise that ?
Why is Dennis Wise still employed at Newcastle ?

Knackered if I know - our esteemed owner continues to show a complete lack of understanding of what it takes to run our club and identify with the fans.

Now the anger has faded and the protests died down he's slowly sneaking his way back in, but there's a much more dangerous trend creeping in among the fans now, and that is apathy - it's more and more difficult to care when everything is so clearly rotten.

Whether we stay up or not the fans will be staying away in their thousands next season - we're on a slippery slope and I honestly can't see a way out of it with the current regime.

Well Martin, do you really think the fans will stay away ?
I haven't picked that up from the Mags I know. You probably know a lot more than me though.
The mags I know are still as deluded but loyal as ever.
Now the Boro fans I know have chucked the towel in. They are convinced Boro are going down.
I have told them they will beat us today but they laugh and say " No Way".
Me and my son are leaving soon to go to Boro. There's a lot of trouble expected so wish us luck !
Gas Masks at the ready, Here we go !!!!

Remember Gary, this is from a true Geordie who said he'd never buy anything from the TOON or ever go a match again as long as Ashley was in charge....

But where was he on the 28th Dec.... yeah you got it, sat in the crowd at the TOON watching us get stomped on 5-1 by the Pool... so much for abstaining & standing against Ashley regime

Personally as a fan, I'm still hoping & wishing that something good will happen this window, something like Chris Mort coming back as Chairman, his first job is replacing Wise with someone able to get us players & then Ashley giving JFK the £20m minimum he promised for transfers :D

Please wake me up after the 2nd Feb :banghead

Most definitely - you don't mind so much having the odd bad season, but it's just getting progressivley worse with no reason for optimism. Add in the effects of the credit crunch and I think the cockney mafia will be in for a very rude awakening come season ticket renewal time.

Even JFK sounding like he's had enough with his latest outburst - seems he's just coming to terms with the same set of circumstances that forced KK's hand. If the 150th in line for the managers; job walks out on you, where on earth do you go to next??

We continue to successfully seek out new depths to sink to. Most worryingly, I think we still have much further to go, probably starting with a beating by Big Sams's Blackburn this weekend.

Now I understand why you didn't do so well in last week predictions :smilielol

Cheer up Martin, we must be near the bottom now & can only look up as to what the club can do

I believe we've signed a 18yr old Brazilian named Ferreira, supposed to be very good :o

We have bids in for a couple of other pretty good players too, so things maybe better come this weekends match  apparently, we have behind closed doors friendly on Monday in which 2 trialist will play to see if they get to sign for us, 1 Argie, the other Italian, no names mentioned tho
