We play Arsenal tomorrow. After the blasting Wenger has given them you'd expect a response. When was the last time they lost 2 on the trot ? Don't bet on it ! Sunderland 1 Arsenal 3
Boro are at Wigan, a team I tipped to do well this season. Boro's luck needs to change but will it ? Wigan 2 Boro 2
I watched Everton in Belgium last night. They looked bad to me. Dispirited. There's problems at the club and Moyes ain't happy. A good time to play them, Everton 0 Newcastle 1. Owen will score in his attempt to impress Roy.
That's not a mis print !

always a good time to play teams straight after europe games, however newcastle will get thumped at everton, boro have big injury problems, huth, taylor, o'neill, shawky all doubtfull, pogatetz, arca, williams, emnes, bates, hines all definately out, think that alves will start to fire today though

I feel gutted. It feels like a defeat.
That was the best I've seen us play this season. Everyone played well, even Dwight Yorke !
Cisse looked the biz today.
Dioff was dropped and he wasn't missed.
Leadbitter's goal was a cracker see it if you can.
But for them to score in the 93rd minute.
I'd have taken the draw before the game so should be happy but am not.
Well Done Boro good place to get a win.

Oh and for those who told me that Malbranque was either a reserve at Spurs or a gold digger, once again today he was class.

In my opinion, he was one of our better players last season. Do not know why they let him go and then started Bentley out there. Very weird.

Looks like Ramos will be off after the end of 90 mins today.

It looks like a lot of teams will be battling against relegation this season. With WBA and Hull having the starts they have had, I mean I can't see WBA keeping it up, Bolton got a surprise good win today and West Ham as high as they are didn't look good. Wigan( although I tipped them to do well) and Boro will be in it along with Newcastle and on todays show Everton.
Blackburn are hitty miss, Fulham will be in it, Stoke are favourites to go down and of course Sunderland will be involved.
There will be no Derby this year and 40 points may not be enough.
Gary
Footy, don't you love it !

At points today I was quite impressed with the way the TOON played but there were times I wish they didn
't play like a Sunday Team too but all in all, they played well enough to come from 2-0 down to get a point at the Toffees which on our record was a major improvement :D :D

As for Ramos... he's toast, of they don't get rid now, the Spurts are foing to be in real trouble this season, even after spending £70m on new players.. the guys not use to the EPL system & even having Poyet to speak for him, its not getting thru to the players & you're in deep doodoo

From the stats I saw, you had 16 shots on target without scoring, now that's either really bad shooting or fantastic defending, which do you think it is :?

Well here goes.
Boro 1 Chelsea 2, Sorry Smurf that's how I see it.
This one is really hard to call. We've had 10players away mid week.
Fulham 2 Sunderland 2 let's hope there's no injuries.
Newcastle 1 Man City 2.
What do ya think ?
Gary

no worries gary , our record against them at home in the prem is ok (5 wins and 5 losses) but they have beaten us the last 3 matches, bit annoyed with capello making wheater fly to belarus stright after the u21 game and not even putting him on the bench think he will make a mistake early on today(hope not though), no doubt chelsea will have john terry fit as well as both coles

Yes I think Southgate was right to bring that up. Capello/Pearce knew Wheater had a game today, bloody ridiculous.

Why, it's not like they played him for 90mins is it, I mean you said he didn't even make the bench so all he's done is sit around getting rested for todays game

Smoggies 0 - 5 Chelski

Is that because Wheater wasn't played by England mid week :? :? Maybe they should have played him, you might have had a good excuse for getting thrashed at home

Pete, the point is Wheater played on Tuesday night for the U21's then had a flight at 3am to Belarus to join up with the England team, then was not used at all.
By the way the Boro commentator said that when Chelsea play Newcastle it'll be 15 nil.

Yes I understood the point which would mean he would be fit enough to play today, but unlike some players like Lampard who did play midweek & played/scored again today, he had a rest, so there really isn't a point is there

pete at times you really do show a lack of understanding :banghead

boro were awful today, thought chelsea played weel there full backs (especially bridge) really showed ours how to play, i was very worried when i saw that grounds was playing right back and he was tortured by chelsea today, wheater was poor, not as dominant as usual, i dont think gary o'neil completed a single pass to a boro player today. plus points, Mido looked up for it, adam johnson showed some skill but did not get any ball.

hats off to chelsea they were very impressive and could/should have won by more than 5

Well I listened to our game and we were robbed. Both teams attacked and it sounded like a good game.
Both keepers had saves to make but Schwarzer was the busier. Richardson took a free kick that hit the left post then hit the right post then hit Schwarzer then hit the left post again !
Cisse smacked the bar and Richardson had a perfect free kick which sent the keeper the wrong way and was ruled out. Everyone has said it was a perfectly good goal.
Let's hope that's all our bad luck out of the way as we get ready for next week.
Gary
We are improving but still only have 9 points. With a bit of luck in our last two games( remember Arsenal equalised in injury time) we'd have 13points !

Apart from me - clear foul by Chimbonda on the wall!

Did you see the highlights on MOTD, where they showed Bullard touching him up before the kick was taken - seemed to be enjoying it!

Keane has stated he will change the team and punish some players for the show at Stoke the other night. Just what you want isn't it ? messing about with the team when it is Chelsea away. I fear the worst.

i hope so, but you do realise boro have not kept 2 clean sheets in a row since i was born(well over a season anyway) and have only scored more than 2 once in the league since the start of last season (8-1 game)

Well I saw my lots result coming, pity Keane didn't.
How must Cisse feel being dropped and replaced by an eighteen year old ? Who the hell throws an eighteen year old in against Chelsea away ?
Danny Collins our most consistent player for 2 seasons not even at the game, neither was Chopra who, after scoring twice against Boro, hasn't had a look in.
Keane spat his dummy out and look what happened.
I've been told that things have not been good at Sunderland this week and a couple of the players have fallen out with Keane big time. His tactics at times just show his niaivety.
By the way, Stoke beat Arsenal with 2 goals again from Delaps throws and who sold him to Stoke......yes Keane.
A week's a long time in football isn't it ?

Gary

I understand Diouf, Cisse and Chimbonda went to a party held by Overfriendly Martins on Thursday and didn't leave it until around midnight, against Sunderland match curfew rules. It seems Mr Keane was teaching them a lesson in discipline. Have to give the man credit for trying to ensure the club is run professionally but at times it can go against the club as it seems to have done this weekend.

I understand Chimbonda was also late for a club get together earlier in the week, the second time he has done this since arriving. What money on Mr Keane getting rid of him in the January transfer window, Mr Keane is not someone you can keep getting on the wrong side of and expect him to let you play for the team.

I only saw MOTD highlights and have to say your team did look very poor, hopefully it was a glitch that you can move on from without letting it affect things for too many games.

Still need you to finish higher than the Barcodes.

Cheers

John

Sorry Willis got that well wrong. Just fancied Boro to score a few.
Yes Boogs they were at Martin's party but Chopra and Collins were not.
We need to get cracking, 12 points from 10 games is nigh on Relegation form, something Mr Keane assured us we could forget about this season.

I would love to put my predictions on here, but I can't have this lot copying me in an attmept to challenge my league-topping position!

All I'll say is that for the NE 3 this weekend I've predicted 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat.....

By my reckoning on this thread so far Gary has managed to miraculously prognosticate 1 out of 15 scores correctly, and another 3 correct results.

I'm begnning to see why he's bottled joining the predictions comp! :D

Who cares ? I call it as I see it. We beat Blackburn so I was wrong !
On a serious note guys, a point dropped may prove very costly this year. It's tight and it looks like it's gonna stay tight.
As was mentioned on another thread there could be a shock this year.
I can't speak for Boro or the mags but for my own team I'm thinking doodoo, if Arsenal hadn't have equalised in the third minute of injury time, if we had beat Fulham like we oughta( it should have been 5-0} if we'd beat Pompey( how did they win that match ?) we'd have 7 more points !!
Keane has said we want to compete with Pompey, West Ham and Blackburn. We have had a bad patch, let's hope it's over. We totally outplayed Pompey but lost. We beat Blackburn and now we face West Ham. I told you I wanted to see Jones and Cisse together now let's hopwe they click !
Haway!! Gary

We'll be lucky to get nil today. :(

Chelsea have done the mackems and smogs 5-0 so anything less than that I'll take as a tiny moral victory!

Think you'll both probably win this weekend too.

I personally dont think we'll get a thumping like that, as we don't do too bad there:

2007/08: Lost 1-2 Butt
2006/07: Lost 0-1
2005/06: Lost 0-1
2005/06: Lost 0-3

Ok, we've not won there since 87 but we haven't lost by many in the past couple of years, well not unless you go back a few more seasons:

2004/05: Lost 0-4
2003/04: Lost 0-5
2002/03: Lost 0-3

So you see, we've got better against Chelski since they've spent more money

I must be getting old. I haven't gone to the match today. I've given my ticket to my son's mate !
It's bloody freezing and there's snow everywhere and I've decided to sit and watch it on Sky in my warm house with a slurp or two.
I think my son's quite pleased to be honest !
