I'll be there.

Pete was moaning yesterday about some apparent injury, so not sure if he's going to make it.

Do we have any extra coming this week?

Yesterday I grouped pm'd all that have posted in this thread as well as these chaps ...

Pete
Arsenal
Smurf
Pikeybouy
Tanny

So unless we get some more response in the post it doesn't look good

I've spoken to tanny and him and the 2 lads are coming, so we should have at least the same as last week even if Pete doesn't make it (as long as we can sort Tony a lift!)

I think Simon comes down from Tala way? Or am I just making that up??

You've left Dean off your list - is that because mentally you've already crippled him so he's not going to last long enough to count??

Presume Chas will be there as he booked it.

That's what happens when you're a cold-blooded assassin - you're impervious to the suffering of your victims...

Lift OK now, the OH is finishing early - how will I find the venue, is it the place where the Paphos Cheetahs train?

Good stuff - directions copied from Chas' post last week:

Quote:
directions couldn't be easier, from t.o.k.r. just keep going straight, as far as you can go, where the road bears right for yeroskipou beach, just go ahead on the dirt track, pitches are on your right.

If you have any probs with lift let me know. I live in Tala. Only issue is that I don't know when I finish work (meetings blah blah blah) and may have to go straight to the pitch.

However, if I finish early, more than happy to give you lift.

Simon

Sorry guys but I'm not going to make it due to tearing the 'Vastus Intermedius' muscle in my left thigh

For those of you non-medical type, its the third muscle between your 2 larger muscles, if you have them

Also, I spoke with Chas today at the market & he's not sure if he'll make it as he's hurt his thumb after falling over :smilielol Also, I doubt Tanny will be playing as he had a small op yesterday & is carrying stitches in his side, so he'll be there but Tricia says he may not be playing :(

And before any of you say anything, I was really looking forward to playing today too as I had a great time last week, but as I'm unable to bend my leg & run, I'll be no good to anyone but at least Capt Nutmeg won't get as many goals scored between those bucked legs of his  :smilielol

:( this sucks donkeys balls !

with just 7 confirmed playing is it really worth trying to play "5 a side" ? 5 vs 4 was unbalanced so 4vs3 will just be (a) knackering and (b) pass-pass-pass-shoot-goal all night

So pete, how did you pull that muscle ? ;) ?

I was playing ball with the mutt  I tried a backpass & something popped & it felt like someone had stabbed me in the thigh  I did actually think I'd broken my thigh at first  but as I wasn't getting any numbness or needles shooting down my leg, I guessed I hadn't

Maybe I should be putting so many emoticons in my posts now, as it seems the other forum don't like them much :smilielol :smilielol :smilielol

Agreed - I'm thinking maybe we should pull the plug this week? It's really not gonna be that much cop with only 7 of us blowing our lungs out of our arsses.

Should let Forza know asap if thats the case.

Howay lads, this is pathetic man!

Spoke to tanny earlier, he's definitely coming. Said he might not be at his most mobile, but that pretty much applies to all of us....

Can't see Chas not showing as it's booked in his name so he'll get stung for payng if it's a no-show - pretty sure it's too late to cancel now anyway.

That gives us 9 even after Pete's bottle-job!

I suppose a friendly against CL is out of the question  . You've got enough for a 5 a side team and subs so you need to find some opponents !
What about the locals can't they accomodate you with a match ?

Enjoyed the 5 a side last night - but boy am I paying for it this morning.... I fell like I've just ran the great north run - not jogged around a 5 a side pitch....

I really enjoyed it again ... with pikeybouy on his debut for the squad and chas' two mates we had 10 players so was a "right touch" . A muscle in the top of my right leg (no good on the medical myself) is a bit sore but tomorrow is when it normally hits home !

I don't think any actual booking was made for next week so assuming there is a decent number intending to come i`ll book it ... 7.30 10th December - who fancies ?

Yeah I'm up for next week, providing my injuries heal!

Falling over on that stuff is a nightmare - both of my knees have swollen up and are red raw where the skin has been ripped off. Spent last night peeling each knee from the bed sheets everytime I tried to turn over and ended up with a craaaaaap nights kip.

Daaaamn I sound like a moaining old girl - further backed up by me running home after one pint.

You've got a nerve talking about injuries after your thunderbolt into my nether regions - good job I wasn't planning on starting a family any time soon!

Really enjoyed the game last night, fitness definitely improving already. Look forward to next week.

Good to hear you didn't miss me too much guys  Glad you had a good game, wish I could have been there

I hope I'm better for next week but at present I don't think I will be, my leg is a lot better but still unable to bend it properly, so haven't even thought about running as I'm just able to walk now

Not sure if it was a coincidence but the quality of play last night was certainly higher across the board .... :smilielol

Maybe that was due to the fact you had 2 of Chas's mates playing instead of just me, that would make it better than the week before obviously

Didn't stop me being top goal scorer last week tho

Hiya Big Dutch and all
I'm a new boy to PP and have been reading all the posts re 5 a side with interest and would quite fancy a game, assuming you can make allowances for my general lack of fittness, skill and the fact I'm a Leeds Utd supporter!
I work in Paphos and live up in Anarita. If someone could let me know the details of the next match/training (venue, time etc.) I'd be up for a kick about.

Cheers

It was a 'needs must' situation this week, due to lack of numbers resulting from a couple of the more elderly PP members exerting themselves too much in week one and thus resulting in their arthritis wreaking havoc and making them unavailable for week 2.

apoligies if anybody turned up last night & couldn't get a game,i have genuinely hurt my thumb on tuesday, & as i have a match on sunday, i didn't want to aggrevate it,
i got a call from forza last night, about 8 o'clock, & aparently they had double booked anyway,

i haven't visited the sports bar for a long while, i've still been on day to day, (trying to get 4pages)

i will make sure there are no ore double bookings, i will find out what time a pitch is available when i go on tuesday.
if anybody fancies coming & watching on sunday, kick off is about 10.30 on the grass pitch at forza.

look forward to seeing you there on sunday & wednesday

regards

chas
