Keane back at the Spurts, what was the point in him leaving, same as Defoe & Chimbonda
Keane was allowed to leave after 6 years of service (far longer than any of his former clubs) to follow a dream of playing for the team he supported as a kid. Unfortunately for him, it did not work out.
Defoe was allowed to leave as he could not be gayranteed first team football.
They are welcomed back, as we need them at present. It was not pre-meditated and was not a case of ineptitude on our part - we got good money for them, we have not lost, overall, in bringing them back.
Chimonda on the other hand is a mecernary and will go where the cash takes him.
You'd be better off focusing on the weaknesses of your team in the transfer window.
What weaknesses.... we got rid of a whinging french tart & a goalie who' served us well for 11 years, made a profit on both & brought in 3 outfield players which we desparetly needed, and to top it off, our owner pocketed £8m in the process, I think thats good business personally....
As for not bringing in more players, its not the want of trying that was the probem, its whether or not the teams would allow them to go at a sensible price & whether the players themselves wanted to come to the TOON, which in most cases, they didn't, I mean, we couldn't even prise Richardson away from the Mackems, now that saying something when we can't even get a player like him to join us from a team liek them
As for the comments regarding Keane, Defoe & Chimbonda, well it seems to me, Keane wasn't good enough to play for POOL & El Benitez didn't want him anyway, so he came back to the only real team he could play for, ok you got him cheaper than you sold him, good bit of business as long as he can play with the NEW team that Arry's set up there.... Defoe is just Arrys play thing, he would have come to the TOON if Arry was here
& yes, Chimbonda is a doodoo player & a mecernary, he'll play for who ever offers him the most money
