It seems that David James isn't happy that Citeh have signed Shay Given, his reason is that it will effect English football as Joe Hart is an English goal keeper for the future according to the article I read :o

I think the true reason he thinks Shay Given shouldn't have joined Citeh is because with Shay leaving the TOON, it makes Stevie Harper the TOON No1 Goalie & because he's english & only 33, James is worried that he'll lose his position as Englands No1 sooner than he wanted too

Just my opinion :D

He's just turned 29. Forgetting who I support - I do think Green is by far the best, consistent keeper in the Prem..

Oh and 3 Hammers in the England squad this time..

Yeah you may have 3 but it doesn't say they'll play any part in the game, which btw is a friendly, where new boys always get blooded

As for Green being the

are you forgetting what Van de Sar has done lately, or in fact that most people, players. ex-players, critics etc think that Given is the best goalie in th Prem :? :? me thinks you're a little bit bias towards him somehow mate

He's always been England quality mate because he's english, I mean have you see some of the crap we've had between the post for England & Harper has always been a good goalie, he's just never had any real time as 1st goalie :D

Anyways, you lot can talk, you spent £9m on Scotlands 1st goalie, when was the last time he played :? :?

Well they all got on the pitch, but they didn't make much difference to the score.

Wasn't the 2nd half a draw?

Oops - edit
Me & Mrs B both heard it was 2-1 at the end (as we woke up this morning) but now on the 7am news it seems we were mistaken, or misinformed, which makes my stupid remark even more stupid!

Yes all 3 Hammers were on the pitch for the second half or part of - and I'd much rather Green there than James, the way James flapped around.. Green could do nothing about the goal..

Carlton Cole came the closest to scoring too, cleared off the line..

Sorry but I have to say I think Beckham was the best player on the pitch

As for Lampard.... did he have his boots on the wrong feet, his passing was unreal, he gave the ball away with nearly every pass... I wonder if he was in a monk because he didn't start the game

Calamity James is a liability, he always has been & alway will be... he only looks good when he's got a good defence in front of him & last night mish-mash showed how good he really is

Saying that, Spain are a class team & I think we did well not be more than 2 down at the end of the game, good job it was a friendly after all
