Diane

I nipped down to Limassol this morning (had to go to Jumbos), and as I was driving I could feel myself grinning. Picture this, driving along, windows down, radio on, hills on one side, sea on the other, blue sky, sun shining . . . getting the picture? And as I was driving, I actually pinched myself, and said out loud " I LIVE HERE" And it really is the most wonderful feeling.

Ok. I'll ask Karen when she gets back. I've checked my "busy schedule" and I think I can spare an hour or two

Very soon, you will be sipping a HUGE brandy sour
with your feet on a stool enjoying the sunset in Paphos.

Probably, a 3- piece suite, 3 wardrobes, dining table + 6 chairs, fridge/freezeer, cooker and washing machine.
On top of that, she'll have lots of clothes, and a few bottles of Duty Free for her friends.

Jean................you need a container...methinks!!!

Phew, thank goodness for that Diane! I think we are going to have to do some careful packing of the cars, though. At least the way my car seats go down, it makes it totally flat in the back, and the back door opens sideways, so not too much of a struggle. Just take it easy now, enjoy your last day tomorrow, go out for lunch, chill out, and relax ready for Monday. See you on the sunny side. :bounce :bounce :bounce

Molly - I don't go anywhere without my sunglasses they are my passion, with some people its shoes with me its sunglasses lol

Woke up and its absolutly chucking it down, wouldn't mind a last drop of rain but I do have to get 5 boxes and 5 suitcases all the way to the waiting car and the rain will not help with me arriving at airport looking gorgeous lol

I can check in from 4.00pm and have arranged a porter at Gatwick to come give me a hand

Night alone in hotel so I will hopefully start to chill out, take nice shower, have something to eat and maybe read my book then back to airport for about 6.30 am

Look out Cyprus I arrive at 15.50!!!!!!

I would like to thank everyone for the encouragement and support through this short but often traumatic journey, I am looking forward to meeting you all so much

Di xx

I can't comment regarding the new airport but I doubt it is any better than the old regarding assistance.

When we arrived we had suitcases etc. and 2 dogs in crates brought over in the hold of the plane. They were dumped in the baggage hall and we were left, with no assistance, to try to get them out of the airport. we were told in no uncertain terms we were NOT allowed to remove them from their travel cages until we were outside the terminal.

The scenario was.... 2 people, 2 baggage trolleys with suitcases on and 2 dogs in cages that would not fit on trolleys and were too cumbersome to lift in a crowded airport...... Result..... Chaos....

We received no assistance from the airport personnel and there were no porters at the airport.

They don't make it easy.....

Brian

Sounds exactly like our landingin Paphos :-).
We landed with a 120 pounds Bernese Mountain Dog, 3 suitcases and a cat also in a cage of course.

When asking the "service"-crew where we could find a trolley to fit our dog cage, the not so polite responce was "You should have thought about that
when you decided to bring that one into Cyprus".

If anyone in a service-position in Denmark had responded a customer like that, he/she would be fired right away.
