Flintoff hasn't really performed since we last won the Ashes, but he is a big-game player and on his day a matchwinner so hopefully he can get properly fit....

Exactly, on his day and he hasn't had his day now for 5 years. I agree he can be fantastic but can we afford to take the risk?

At least we can take a crumb of comfort from knowing we thrashed the Pakistanis. It just goes to prove that there is little thought out skill in this form of the game, exciting though it is. It's just a sloggerama.

I'm a fan of Monty, but his form hasn't been brilliant and Swann is more useful with the bat, and we'll need to bat as far down as possible against this lot...

I love Monty too and my mum thinks he's the best thing ever.
I believe the Cardiff pitch is expected to favour spin so we may play 2 in the first test.
