It is cloudy and a bit blowy up in Narnia.

We are supposed to get a "small sun gale" that lasts for five days starting around 18th February. Does that mean it will be windy but sunny?

Bloomin' 'eck. ITV is pixilating - unheard of. Looked out and it is looking a bit black over the back of Bill's. Wonder what weather system is blowing up my valley?

Big drops of rain, distant thunder. I have just yanked my washing off the line.

That came up the valley PDQ.

Missed Geroskipou then.

It did come over very black and the wind picked up - in came the washing, lucky it was out early and dry.

Rain in Peyia isn't much good for the dams, we need it in the mountains but it seems to release over the lowlands instead, which just goes back to the sea :(

All we've had in Chloraka today was a light shower of rain. However the 'dusty' weather is back with a vengeance, wiped all the surfaces in the office twice today and it just keeps returning!

I was at Pafos bird park and it rained hard for 20+ minutes.

Got back home and was dry as a bone.

I lost my internet after posting that last post about getting the washing in.

We have had thunder up here, and apparently it was thundering and lightening in Polis. They seem to have had quite a bit of rain according to my neighbour.

Well, there's a turn up for the books; yesterday they forecast virtually no rain for the week ahead, now there's likely to be plenty (well, some anyway :D ). Lloyd

Rain and snow in Cyprus

from yesterdays Famagusta Gazette

The heavens opened up on Cyprus this afternoon, bringing torrential rain to many parts of the island and even snow on the mountains.

In Protaras and Ayia Napa the scene was of grey skies and rain.

Flooding was reported in some parts of Larnaca and Nicosia.

The wet weather is expected to continue until Wednesday, with evening temperatures on the coasts dropping to just 7oC.

The wet weather is welcome news for the water board after reserves have been running low after a lack of rain.
