A RAC is my one and only tipple really, although occasionally in the summer I treat myself to a nice cold cider.

 An icy cold Strongbow cider on draft, if I can get it......

 An icy cold Bacardi Breezer (Cranberry), which I can't get very often these days - anywhere :(

 Failing that - a nice cold Keo will always hit the spot.

 Or for a real treat - a half of the local "brew" at the Brewery Bar on Limassol seafront. But only as a treat (it was just under Cy£3 for a half pint just before the € changeover).
Very nice though - icy cold, a little sweet and a bit stronger than the norm

A nice coffee with tinned milk in - yes I know you all went yuk..

If Im in the mood for alcohol(which is extremely rare these days) a bacardi n diet coke with a slice of lemon or a white wine and lemonade. I can spoil any bottle of wine with lemonade but do I care??

My friend and I have birthdays in the same week and last year we went to Olivetos(without men or kids - bliss) and she almost fainted when I put sprite into a glass of a £40 bottle of wine! I thought it was nicer though..

A frappe as long as it is not all froth. A brandy sour so long as I make it myself, a cold Keo or vodka and grapefruit.

I've seen a few members mention 'Brandy Sours' I was just wondering if you've tried a 'Brandy Sweet' & what you think of it :?

50 ml Cyprus brandy (2 Shots)
25 ml undiluted lemon squash
2 dashes Angostura bitters & top with lemonade!

Thanks for the letters, I need them these days

That's the difference from 'Sour' to 'Sweet', change the soda to lemonade & it changes the drink, try it, it was a massive drink in the forces over here :D

Keo for me!

The occasional glass of red wine for those quiet evenings in.

And I am sometimes tempted by a cheeky brandy on an evening.

Mainly Keo though! :cheers

I only rarely have a glass of wine - usually when eating out - and I drink even less beer, but I can be tempted with a large Keo brandy, a decent Scotch or better still Jack Daniels as a night cap. However the best drink of the day is a good cup of tea with a dash of milk and no sugar.

Incidentally has anyone seen on their travels PG Tips instant tea? It's the only one that works (in conjunction with a flask of hot water) when picnicking and if I don't find a stockist soon I will have to prevail upon visitors to bring over a jar from the UK.

None of the major supermarkets have stocked it for some time - which doesn't surprise me as it is only a shadow of the real thing for everyday drinking.

KG, is that the instant tea with added milk, so no need to add anything else :?

I have Ty-phoo QT, instant White Tea, I just add sugar & off I go :D

A large bottle of Keo - much prefer it to draught. On the very rare occasions I drink spirits, vodka and tonic or vodka and lemonade, and sometimes a glass of red wine (Statos 99).

Just started drinking green tea, and I must say, it's rather nice.

Sadly no - PG is instant tea only. Thanks for the suggestion but the Typhoo alternative is not to my taste.

Oooooh Piglet, you're not alone I'm partial to a white wine & lemonade myself as is David. We both like brandy sours too but only our mix (not the tourist version)!

Favourite for after dinner is Commanderia :P

I am with the Keo brigade , got to be well chilled though , also enjoy a Brandy Sour . My SO likes to dabble , starts with Keo , then maybe a Brandy Sour , then may go for anything on the list.

But here at home we dont really drink much , it's not the same as being away , last year we were still sitting out at the hotel at 1-00 in the morning chatting to other guests and having a good laugh .

Oh , this was in October , no chance of that here anyway .

Yay! Helen and David - more people who dont see the addition of lemonade as ruining it!

I have tried to become a little more educated about wine - differentiating types and what goes with what etc - but really if it tastes good with a bottle of sprite does it matter?

Plus Im cheap date!

At the moment my tipple is a nice cup of Dow Egberts. I hope all you imbibers are enjoying yourselves.

Jackie had my share as well as her own last night, and I never felt a thing this morning.

A whiff of oxygen has been used by those in the medical professions. Never tried it myself, but some say it works well.

To avoid losing a day in my life I now stick to wine (cheapo Keo in a box stuff) and soda. Why is it the older you get the worse the next day is??

Owen once tried the zivania stuff (what is that by the way??) and poor Jasper (dog) ended up wearing Owens knickers on his head.
:pint :monkey

Zivania is the distilled 'waste' from the pressing of the grape crop for wine making. It is essentially a pure spirit and can be very strong. Traditionally it was (and still is) produced in private stills, though the major producers such as Keo and Loel now produce rather more 'refined' and tame versions. Get hold of the real thing and it will blow your socks off ;)

If you get the commercially produced version, keep it in and serve straight from the freezer (it won't freeze solid).

It's also very good for prickly heat rash and mozzie bites , takes all the itching away , but watch out for the fumes if you light up a ciggie . :explode

Good old El Conquistador!

Haven't tried the white, but had some of the red at a friends house - found it surprisingly palatable, although I'd had a few beers by then so my judgement may have been somewhat impaired!

The Keo red in 1 litre cartons is pretty good for just around a pound. :cheers

Generally Keo for me, like Leon too. For sessions (occassional of course) has to be Guinness to keep the bloating down, an infrequent dash of baileys on ice and when its nice and toasty outside some Sangria ... ex-pat-tastic :)

We've been trying to buy Cyprus wine in the quest for something local and decent, best to date to our uneducated palettes is Ficardos Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 !
