Hi Ladies & Men

Did you ever play netball in the past & would like to try it again?

I would like to find any interested people to start one.

It's popular in the UK to also have a mixed women & men's team so open to all & kids are welcome too.

But I'm be just happy to find anyone interested.

I'll be interested. I played not to long ago at work. I'm usually defence position GK mainly. I'm not very good but reliable on turning up.

Yes, guys played to, but they were all Australian and New Zealanders. It's very big sport down under for men.

Yes, location is a point. Where are they any netball courts we can hire? I assume schools will have them but don't if we could hire them etc.

Yvonne, I still can get my head round the fact that you never played. I always thought it was something that every girl in British did and it like "the law".

Is there a difference between a netball court and a basketball court? If you go just behind Gymnastika Gymn in Yeroskippou they have just laid a concrete court there. Could be worth having a look at.

Retirement - harder work than working - But much more fun

Apparently there are no netball courts/posts in Paphos but we will not be deterred.

The Emba badminton coach says we may be able to have courts taped on his new badminton courts (in a school: I don't know where yet). & that we maybe able to get a grant for posts etc. But in the meantime if we can get enough people we could practice on the many basketball courts around and about.

There is another on Anglo Info lady who has the bibs & ball ...(love that word bib) - what do they think we dribble ..!!

... There is plenty of netball action on/around the bases so eventually, when pepermint is up to speed with the rules & the rest, on 20 cigs a day & or alcohol, are fit(ter), then we have a good challenge.

and it won't be long before we all.... or like

Yes, Jean they are a few difference. The height of basketball hoop is 10ft, netball is 9ft. The hoop is a lot smaller for netball that basketball. The hoops is located inside the count in basketball, you can go behind for a metre or so before you are out of court. With netball the hoops is right of the edge of the court. The court sizes (after googling it) are about the same. Also the lines/layout are completely different. The hoop size is the main thing, if you've been shooting to basketball hoop and then change to a netball hoop. It feel like it's very very small.
