I'm going to have to take you to task here for pinching a song from where I come from...SOMERSET. West country it may be but The Wurzels and their songs are definitely from Somerset...

Here is my contribution...

However Tears For Fears come from the actual city I was born in...Bath

Hi

I love the Waters of Tyne and wish I knew how to put it on here. I often sing it and when I watch my Catherine Cooksons dvds it is often played. I find it very moving and cry.

Jill.......just going to google it now

What a beautiful song Jill & I for one look forward to hearing the way you love to hear it sung. Perhaps we can all then share a tear together

Hi.

Been listening to a few versions on youtube but I do like Sting and Jimmy Nail singing it. Have to stop now as my eyes are sore, think you will only appeciate this song if you have a love for the North East. When my time is up this is my song!
I also like Jimmy Nail singing Big River.

When you have the video on YouTube right click on the url at the top of the screen and choose "copy" then go to where you want the url to be (as in this message) and then right click again and choose "paste" and the link should appear

"think you will only appeciate this song if you have a love for the North East"

I love that part of the UK but understand we can get even more emotional when a great song is about our place of origin. Good final choice of singers

gibziz bet you have sung that a few times :-) A rousing anthem

Anyway we have started to move around the country :celebrate

Not very much about the town of my birth but there are a few 'famous' inhabitants.

Now long disbanded but nonetheless world famous (at the time)
