Is it just me or does there seem to have been a lot of early evening helicopter activity over the past couple of week?

Could be to do with joint military exercises between Cyprus-based UK troops, Cypriot and Jordanian forces.

We also have been wondering what is going on Dave

As helicopter flights in the dark don,t usually happen

And they are not chenooks ...not loud enough

So like you we have been wondering what is going on

yanks back and forth from the base in peyia to paphos airport

Where is the US base in Peyia?

They have been flying over to the Akamas

If you read back through the last few weeks Cyprus Mail online you will see the reasons for the increased activity. The US are repositioning helicopters etc and using Paphos as a refuelling point en route from Greece.

Yes going over our house in lower Peyia heading towards the Akamas

Sorry not a helicopter , but odd .

I heard a plane go over tala a short while ago , switched on flight radar , as you do .

Didn't notice that, but definitely heard the 4 Chinooks going over earlier at fairly low altitude!

And there they go again!
