Today I was pottering in my garage on a cold wet October morning, I was listening to the radio and a topic came up about Cyprus, so I stopped and listened more carefully.

Apparently UK Cypriots have asked the UK government to help sort out the issue with the Turks, the Turks are planning to open the beaches in Varosha, they want us to present a case to the UN security council, they also say that the EU are not being very constructive in dealing with this problem.

A UK male Cypriot put a case over which I found very moving, again a spokesman for the UK government has said they are looking at it, which we all know it will come to nothing.

Can anyone stop Turkey flouting International Law, probably not, in my opinion (hope I am wrong) this is Turkeys way of encroaching further into Cyprus, they know that the world is toothless.

In 1974 the UK turned their backs on Cyprus, will they do it again.

Very sad indeed.

Thanks Dave, this is what I heard on the radio, very sad indeed and a potential recipe for disaster, what must the poor people of Cyprus think when they see this.

This could get ugly, Turkey have a rather arrogant attitude to any legal International intervention, they have a SO WHAT, what are you going to do about it.

:-(
